Shop Review: Monki
Finally, I'm so so happy that Monki are finally delivering to the UK. I've absolutely adored their clothes since about a a year ago and kept telling myself that I'd just visit their store when I go to Amsterdam or you know, if im passing through Denmark one day but it just didn't happen.
So last week some New Years plans were getting thrown around the air and Amsterdam came up so naturally I went on to start a wish list and instead was able to just spend almost all of my wages there and then.
Their prices represent real value for money, the average blouse costs £30 which is roughly the same for Topshop if I remember correctly but truthfully I don't really remember the last thing I bought there.
Delivery is only like £3.50 too because it's shipped from The E.U which is better than usually having to shell out on customs tax.
This is what I've got so far though;
And the skirt, Annelie, which is great. It's so comfortable and soft and can be worn with almost anything. I really want it in tan too.
I love this advert they did last year with Simon Rudholm. It's shot on a Phantom HD and shows off their brilliant illustrations too.

My day off.
Today is my last day off before loads of over-time at work and going back to college on the 29th.
I woke up around 10, had some coffee and watched an episode of the O.C (Rachel Bilson will never play another character better) and then got lost for a few hours in some of the charity shops in the southside.
I managed to find a few beauty's, have a look!

A silk coral blouse which is a perfect match with my coral Barry M nail polish!
This brown printed lambswool jumper. It's incredibly soft, the first jumper I'm sure won't be itchy on bare skin. I can't wait to wear it this winter.
I wasn't completely sure on this when I brought it home, It's very tribal meets Fresh Prince. But with a waist belt, I really like it.
I actually didn't spot this, my flatmate Jamie did and I'm glad. It's so comfortable and light on.
This was probably the best find though, a size 8 wool and cashmere trench coat from Jenner's in Edinburgh.
It's so much warmer than any coat that I've ever worn from Topshop or Urban Outfitters. The quality doesn't compare either. I'm in love with it.
I won't say how much each item cost individually but it did accumulate to £13 altogether. Yeah, that's right, £13. Sometime's it depends on when you go in, but thrift shops are always worth a look.
(I should mention that my good friend Martin took some of the photos of myself wearing the clothes, as he was there and hasn't yet returned my tripod! Check out his flickr here, he's pretty darn good)

Shop Review: Romwe
I literally just came across this website in the last few days whilst lost for hours in Bleubird's blog.
They are an online new/vintage clothing and accessories store based in Nanjing, China.
They stock all their new items in only one size, so you have to know all your measurements etc before purchasing. Vintage items are non-returnable also.
However, their prices are more than reasonable for some really nice pieces.
They seem extremely popular with fashion bloggers and they even have a page for all their favourite current fashion bloggers too which is defiantly worth a look.

Shop Review: Bleubird Vintage
Bleubird Vintage is an online vintage store set up by the lovely “miss” james kicinski.
She is a full time mum/blogger living in Texas and her shop promotes some classy and unique little garments.
The clothes are similar to some pieces you'd find in Mr Bens or any over priced vintage store around Byre's road, but are slightly less expensive.
Although when you include customs tax and postage to here, It will be near enough the same price.
I love these current items in particular though:

Her blog, however, is my personal favourite part of her "corner of the internet" as she calls it.
Her kids are freaking adorable and she is always dressed extremely well. Example:

Shop Review: Prep Jerks
I came across this brand whilst browsing through lookbook (a site I will reference a lot, because it's fantastic) one winter evening last year and I ended up buying quite a few christmas presents and some lovely tops and sweaters for myself.
They are a brand based in California and they only make a few of each item because they believe in, and I quote, "quality over quantity" and I can vouch for that because the tops and sweaters I own are still as bright and soft as they were when I purchased them.
Their lookbooks are impressive, especially spring summer 2010, it's photographed extremely well.
Prep Jerks customer service matches their product quality too. I didn't receive one package because it was signed for and stolen by somebody else but when I got in contact with them they were nothing but polite and understanding and simply re-sent me another.
Most of their current items are out of stock, but at least it's a glimpse at whats to come. My favourites include the Love sweater, the Mac shopper and the Grace tee.
Their blog is worth a look too.

Shop Review: Spool No.72
I came across this shop whilst dreaming of pay day a few weeks ago and it proved to have some pleasant little items.
Their new collection includes lightweight dresses, smocks and tunics all with unusual and pretty prints. I, of course, can get no use out of these until next year because autumn has most definitely arrived.
I especially love the blue crotchet breeze dress, its so vibrant.
They also have a journal that often contains delightful interiors and also all of their new items, visit it here.
